I have been researching my family tree for many years and have traced out lineage back to the Mayflower in the NE and the Mid-Atlantic area in the early 1600's.
Some of our more interesting relations are:
Alexander Hamilton (married to my 4th cousin, 6x removed) Founding Father
Anthony Lispenard Bleecker (5x great Grandfather) was a prominent real estate broker in NYC in the late 18th, early 19th century. His family farm was located in what is now Greenwich Village. Bleecker Street is named for him.
Benjamin George Pringle (my ggg-Grandfather) Lawyer and member of the 54th and 55th Congress from the state of NY. Was appointed by President A. Lincoln to be a judge in the mixed court of adjudication as established by the Suppression of the African Slave Trade Act of 1863. He lived in Capetown, South Africa for seven years.
